Little League Age 16
16 is the final year of Little League age — players are in 16U (Senior League) on a full adult diamond, and it’s also the first grade where a pitcher can appear in two games in one day.
New to the game?
16U is where every player at this age starts.
More experienced?
Players ready for a bigger step can also play 19U (Big League) alongside 17-19 year olds. 16U plays in the morning and 19U in the afternoon, so it’s genuinely possible to play both on the same Saturday without a scheduling clash. 16U games run up to 2.5 hours; 19U games run a full 9 innings with no fixed time limit.
The All-Stars pathway
At Little League age 16, players are eligible to trial for the 16U (Senior) All-Stars — the final year on the Little League All-Stars pathway, and no minimum number of regular-season games is required to be eligible. The pathway runs through three stages: win the New Zealand District to become New Zealand Little League, win the Asia-Pacific & Middle East Regional to become Asia-Pacific Little League, then head to the Little League World Series itself. The Regional has recently been hosted in Jakarta, Indonesia.
