2026/27 Dispensation form coming soon
ALL PLAYERS NEED TO APPLY FOR NEW DISPENSATIONS EACH SEASON (ALL PREVIOUSLY ISSUED DISPENSATIONS ARE NOW VOID)
For the purposes of this document, Junior Baseball is considered:
- Cub Ball (ages 4-7)
- Rookie Ball (ages 6-8)
- Minor League (ages 8-10)
- Major Division (ages 9-12)
- Intermediate (50/70) (ages 11-13)
- Junior League (ages 12-14)
- Senior League (ages 13-16)
Senior Adult Baseball grades are:
- 19U (ages 16-19)
- Reserves, Premiers (ages 17+. Dispensation required for players below 17 based on LL Age Chart)
- Divisional 1 and 2 (ages 17+) No dispensation available
DISPENSATIONS TO PLAY DOWN
- For Age Grades 19U,16U,14U,13U,12U there will be NO Dispensation given to play down.
- For 10U and below Grades, dispensations to play down will be considered on a case by case basis and all decisions by the Dispensations Committee will be final.
- Females ONLY in ALL Little League age grades after dispensation is given may play one extra year down in a grade. Dispensations will be reviewed on a case by case basis and will focus mainly on the safety of the player concerned.
WHEN TO APPLY FOR A PLAYER DISPENSATION
- A Little League Age Group Player who is wishing to play up in a grade they are not age eligible for, will require dispensation.
- Example 1: A Little league age 11 player (based on 2026 LL Age Chart), does not require dispensation to play in 12U (Majors) or 13U (Intermediate). They would require dispensation to play in 14U (Juniors)
- Example 2: A Little league age 12 player (based on 2026 LL Age Chart), does not require dispensation to play in 12U (Majors), 13U (Intermediate), or 14U (Juniors). They would require dispensation to play in 16U (Seniors).
Terms and Conditions when applying for Dispensation
- All decisions made by the Dispensation Committee will be final.
- Dispensations for any grade can been issued with playing restrictions (e.g. pitching, catching)
- If any restrictions are included in a players dispensation and are breached the approved dispensation will be revoked by the committee.
- A player cannot play in a grade/s they have sought dispensation for until they have received confirmation from the Association that any such dispensation has been approved. If they play without receiving the approval they will no longer be considered for dispensation.
- Players Dispensations MUST be received by 5.00pm on the Wednesday before the game for the player to be cleared to play that weekend. All late applications will be reviewed for the following week.
- Player Dispensations will be sent to the Club Secretaries on a weekly basis throughout the season.
- Once approved the players Dispensation is Valid through the ABA Regular Season, Play-offs and Finals Only.
- Dispensations in Junior Grades do not apply for Little League Regional Tournaments or Qualifiers this is a separate age eligibility ruling by Little League International.
- Criteria is strict and will be in consultation with Regional and National coaching staff in conjunction with the Dispensation Panel.
